17 July 1993: We rode a school bus 95 miles into Denali National Park from the railroad station at the park headquarters to the Kantishna Roadhouse at the end of the gravel park road. At times the rain was very heavy and rocks were rolling down the hillsides beside the road. We heard that the road behind us had been washed out.
