This a copy of the Thunderbird Pole. The original, carved by Haesemhliyawn sometime between 1840 and 1888, was moved to the University of British Columbia Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver in 1958. There are several interpretations of what these figures are doing--dancing, playing a game, etc.
