The Icefields Parkway (Hwy. 93) extends 137 miles from of Lake Louise to Jasper, Alberta, passing through portions of Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. It is named for the Columbia Icefield, the largest in the Rocky Mountains. Athabasca Glacier approaches the road about halfway between Lake Louise and Jasper.
