18 July 1994:  There is evidence that the Taos Valley has been inhabited since 3000 B.C.
There are prehistoric ruins dating from 900 A.D.  It is believed that the Taos Pueblo was
built between 1000 and 1450 A.D.

The first Catholic church was built in 1619, this (second church) was built in 1680, and the
current church in 1850 (it is one of the newest buildings in the pueblo).
