18 May 2000:  The double doors--typical of a colonial meetinghouse--one for men, one for women. 
Although the men and women were seated separately in the meeting house, the women were free to speak and preach.
Quaker women were much involved in the 1848 Declaration of Sentiments at the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY.
