13 May 1997:  The church has a number of beautiful stained-glass windows. This is one of the 19th-century stained-glass windows in the east apse of The Church of the Holy Rude.

The church's history "is the religious history of Scotland.  It has seen in succession, Roman Catholic, Protestant, Episcopalian and Presbyterian forms of worship and is still a living, active congregation of the Church of Scotland.
