Back Next Fairfax Meeting, Waterford, Virginia

14 May 2000:   Loss of membership to nearby meetings and westward migration in the 1800s caused the meeting to disband
and it became a private home in 1929.
Note the gravestones sticking up through the high grass in the backyard.

Nicholas Cresswell worshiped here in 1776 and wrote, "Went with Mr. Cavan and Mr. Thos. Matthews to a Quaker meeting, about
7 miles from town.  This was one of the most comfortable places of worship I was ever in.  They had two large fires and a Dutch oven."
