Skagway

A few wharf pilings are all that remains of the port of Dyea. Dyea was the gateway to the Chilkoot Trail over the mountains to the gold fields of Canada. At one time, Dyea rivaled Skagway as the largest town in Alaska. The town died after the White Pass & Yukon Railroad opened.
