The Fairfax Meeting was established about 1733 in Waterford in Loudoun County, Virginia, by Amos Janney who had migrated from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The first Meeting House was built in 1741. The Fairfax Monthly Meeting was established in 1744 when it was set off from the Hopewell Monthly Meeting.
