Dalmally Church -- Dalmally, Argyll

The flat stone in the foreground is one of the 15th-century MacGregor stones. The upright stone behind it was difficult to read, but thanks to Doug McGregor of Winnipeg, Canada, based on 1882 notes from his great-grandfather, it reads:

"Remember man as thou pass by as you are now, so once was I. As I am now so you must therefore prepare to follow me. In remembrance of Donald McGregor who died at Auchnacroibh on the 16th day of January 1869 and was intered in Glenorchy Churchyard in Dalmally, Argylshire."

Donald, who died at age 16, was one of eleven children of John McGregor and Martha McIntyre.
